The Commander 102 is the result of countless mornings fretting over whether the day called for hardpack-filled *crave and destroy* or for chopped up *smash-and-blast*, hoping the conditions matched our decision and realizing that we’d like to keep our options open.

Building squarely on its freeride-comp lineage: a directional profile with a flat, supportive tail, incredible confidence and unshakable composure at speed, race-worthy power transmission and edge hold, and enough rope to hang yourself as high off the deck as you want. But because we have increasingly high insurance deductibles, we dialed things back just enough to make it—in the right length, mind you—surprisingly easy to dump speed in a fit of panic or thread the needle through whatever sketchiness we’ve gotten ourselves into.

Inside, it packs our most substantial construction to date, a round supportive flex profile for optimal support and supreme composure in the most adverse conditions. Outside, a meticulously refined, multi-radial sidecut and generous effective edge provide unrivaled edge hold and engagement speed. A deeper but lower tail rise complements the sidecut to make it more compliant when you’ve bitten off more than you can chew or you’re skiing at half speed, running on fumes.

It drives harder, carves faster, and stays calmer in the clutch than anything else we’ve cooked up. We know some of you, hearing that, get big-headed and think you *need* the biggest and baddest, so here’s your disclaimer: If all you’re after is a big stick to pose with in the tram line—this ain’t it. Unless you’ve got the skills to pay the bills, we strongly recommend you size down from wherever your ego may steer you. It’s still *plenty* supportive, not to mention more fun to ski that way. Trust us.

So here’s the skinny: The Commander 102 is first and foremost a ski designed to excel in firm, punchy, chunky, and choppy conditions. Built to rip fast and loud, carve hard, and expand your comfort zone. For those of you who decide to stay up, you’ll find a big-mountain ski that pushes the limits of your envelope, demands intention from your skiing and rewards you for it, putting XXL pucker airs to bolts—poor conditions, chewed landings and firm snow be damned. Size ‘em down, and you’ve got a strong, supportive carver that makes short work of mixed conditions and low tide. That’s not a threat, for the record—just a promise.

      • This is a general guideline and is only a basic suggestion of the proper size. Where you ski, how you ski, and what skis you've ridden in the past should be taken into consideration.
      • The Commander is a directional ski with a stout profile, rearward mount and flat tail. It skis long and is less forgiving as a result. When in doubt size down.
      • If you are still on the fence and ski confidently and aggressively size up. If you ski more conservatively or timidly size down.
      • Beginner assumes a basic understanding of and ability to ski. For those who have never skied or cannot ski down runs without falling we recommend renting/demoing to start.
If you are unsure, have questions, or feel your recommended size is incorrect, please chat, call or email us. We are happy to discuss specific sizing based on your build, skiing style, and existing quiver / past skis.

Full length, knot free, vertically laminated in house. Strong, damp and burly, European beech provides the pinnacle of composure and calmness at the highest speeds in the most challenging conditions.

Extruded sidewalls constructed of modified Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Styrene (ABS) provide stiffness, dampening, and durability, which allow for more impact resistance and easier repairs that stay put so you can bring the abuse year after year, season after season.

Modified Carbon Fiber Hybrid Composite Structure to compliment the characteristics of two sheets of Titanal metal laminates and stiffer wood cores for increased dampening and faster response.

We use a textured nylon topsheet material enhanced with sublimated graphics‒a non-toxic and eco-friendly alternative to silkscreen. We chose this topsheet material to ensure optimal durability and impact resistance while maintaining crisp and bright graphics.

Skis are tools not treasures and that means they need to take a beating which is why use carbon infused sintered UHMWPE (Ultra High Molecular Weight PolyEthylene). Harder, faster and with better wax absorption and retention than extruded bases this is the industry leader for performance and longevity.

Rubberized VDS foil is placed at strategic locations throughout the construction to increase bond strength and provide vibration damping for more stability and increased control.

There are only a handful of edge manufacturers in the world. We go straight to the source for the best of the best. We use only 2.2mm Rockwell 48 hardened steel edges. Heat treated additionally in house to ensure you get nothing but the absolute most out of your skis.
